Greetings Tavernist,
Hey folks, just a quick update for at this weeks events. Wednesday at Tremont Tavern come on out for a pseudo beer tasting that is going on all night. Sweetwater 420 is the brew...and yes I know 95% of you have had one but tonight is special. Sweetwater has donated the keg and all proceeds from sales go to the American Diabetes Association. Team Tavern will be riding in this weekends Tour de Cure and you can help us meet our fundraising goal of $3,000. So come on out and try a sample and then you can name your price for subsequent pints ($3 minimum). Let's see who the big spender will be to help find a cure for diabetes. In addition, we have a number of items from Sweetwater to be auctioned off including a metal 420 interstate signed with the John Hancock of the one and only Freedy Bensch (founder of Sweetwater). Live music starts at 9pm.
Also Wednesday evenings, kick things off with a game of kickball. This is the first of a weekly series of kick ball games to run through the summer every Wednesday at 6:30p at The Park on Colville St. If you have any questions you can call us at 266-1996.
This weekend we have a great line up of music at both places. At Market on Friday come and enjoy the sounds of Land Camera and then on Saturday the incomparable Roger Alan Wade returns. At Tremont on Friday get cheesy with Mama Con Queso and then on Saturday The Flynts return after a long absence from the Chattanooga scene.
Hope you all have a great week...and don't forget to get your Tavern on!

It has been a couple weeks since the last update. Sorry for the delay but we have have been super busy at both locations. It's hard to keep up communications when we are as busy as we have been lately. Before we get into anything else I just want to send out a call for prayers for people that are a part of our Tavern family...Matt and Lewis Oehmig and the rest of the Oehmig family experienced a great loss when their mother passed away from complications of a stroke. Unfortunately another member of our tavern family, Patrick Droke, also experienced a loss when his mother passed away from similar complications. Our heart goes out to them and please keep them in your thoughts. On the music front: This weekend will be great. At Tremont on Friday we host country music legend Randy Howard. Randy has shared the stage with Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Jr, Waylon Jennings, Charlie Daniels, and Greg Allman. He will be at Tremont on Friday at 10p (no cover). Then on Saturday join us for an intimate night of music with Charles Allison & Friends at 10p. At Market on Friday at 10p, local funk/rock phenoms Fearful Symmetry will take the stage and then on Saturday the tavern house finger lickin' pickin' band, Seersucker, will entertain with their own unique style of country tinged bluegrass. Music starts at 10p and there is no cover. Last of all, I am sending out a request of support to all Tavern supporters. Seven years ago, in my past life :>), I worked for the American Diabetes Association as a fundraiser. I launched a new event, at the time, called the ADA Chattanooga Tour de Cure. The Tour de Cure is a an event that brings bikers (bicycle, not motorcycle) together to ride and raise money for diabetes research and education. Over the past few years we have raised $90,000 each year. Since my departure I have been involved as a volunteer with the ADA. This year, for the first time in seven years, I am going to ride in the event I launched in 2002. My request is three fold. 1) I am asking for riders to join Team Tavern and raise $150 each to reach our goal of $3,000. There are 4 distances being offered 15, 25, 50 & 100 miles so you do not have to be a competitive rider to get involved. 2) As a board member I am looking for volunteers to come out and help make the event enjoyable for the riders. The volunteers are the ones who ultimately make this event a successful one. 3) I am looking for corporate sponsors to either be Team Tavern sponsors or to be grand sponsors of the event and to recruit their own riders to raise money. So, if you have any interest please reply via email. I will contact you or pass on your interest to ADA Area Director, Ben Bass, depending on what you would like to do. Thanks for your consideration of this and I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!
Hope you all have a great week...and don't forget to get your Tavern on!

Greetings Tavernist,
Oh boy, this week looks to be a wild one. Tuesday is St. Patty's Day and we all know what that means...lots of green beer and Irish music. At Tremont you will find $2 Green Light Pints (Bud Light Draft with green food coloring), $3.50 Killian's Irish Red Pints and $3.50 Boulevard Irish Ale Pints. We will also be featuring Smithwicks Irish Ale, Harp Lager, Guinness Stout, Rogue Kell's Irish Lager and Harpoon Celtic Irish Red. At 5:30p to 7:30p, the duo of Butch Ross and Casey Phillips will be playing our favorite Irish tunes and drinking songs...this is a show you don't want to miss. As usual, we will have a Open Mic with Mike McDade. And you never know, there may be a few other surprises during the night...so drop by and join the fun.
Then on Wednesday from 5-7p, come on down for a little hair of the dog from the night before. Our featured brewery for our beer tasting is Smithwick's Irish Ale. Our friends from Carter Distributing will be here to discuss this great brew.
On the music front at Tremont, this Friday we welcome Kyle McKillop & Friends. Kyle is a great talent that made his way playing open mic night. Adding on talented musicians, playing violin and hand drums, to his great guitar playing and singing, you are in for an infectious treat on Friday. Show time is a 10p. Then on Saturday, Sistern takes the stage for first time gig. Sistern, an all female group with varying backgrounds in bluegrass and rock, is lead by Kathy Veazey of Lumbar 5 and Laura Walker of Dismembered Tennesseans. This may be the start of something beautiful...
At Market Street this week we are resurrecting Open Mic night with a new host and set up. Local music phenom, Gabe Newell will be hosting and will build off of open mic at Tremont. You will most likely see many of the same faces since Gabe is a staple at Tremont on Tuesdays. Open Mic starts at 9p. Hope to see you there!
Then on Friday at Market, local DJs Tone Harm are back and are sure to keep you dancing all night. Show time is 10p and there will be a $3 cover. Then on Saturday, the wild and out rockers 6 Deuce return for a folow up to there December show.
Hope you all have a great week...and don't forget to get your Tavern on!
